Fiiiiinally,

I'm going to Belgium! I'm not sure which part until my Guarantee Form comes back, but I'M GOING TO BELGIUM.

I found out 2 days after my district interview. I guess that makes up for having to wait so long FOR district interviews. And now, I guess there isn't a whole lot for me to do until I get my guarantee form -- I don't want to start learning French if I'm going to Flanders or viceversa. So, I'm sitting tight until then.

"Hi Kelsey,

Your Interview Time is: 12:30 PM, Saturday, February 13, 2010."

I'll be in Chilliwack BC at this time, having my future decided for me by a group of old strangers. Scareeeed.

C'est la vie!

Okay, so let's see.

I had my club interview yesterday [thursday] and it went excellent, I thought. I was soo confident, which totally came unexpectadely. I was so proud -- maybe I can be a good ambassador.

Anyway, so the YEO in town called me earlier tonight and told me those words I sooo wanted to hear: "Congratulations, Kelsey. You've been selected to represent Stanwood/Camano at districts!" Now, imagine me jumping up and down in my grandparent's living room, while attempting to remain calm in my voice...this is where you go "lolwut."

Yes. I just had to tell you. So...you're told. There ya go.

I'll keep you posted.

My first post!

Okej, so I figured I'd start a blog about the exchange since there's a possibility of it happening finally! I'm making this so I don't have to re-tell the same story to my family and friends a bajillion times.

So...let's start out with an about me:

I'm Kelsey, I'm 16, and I'm from a small town in Northwest Washington.
To be honest, I've only been considering exchange since September of this year -2009-.
I've done mass amounts of research on exchanging, trying to figure out which program to go with, which country would be best, which languages I would like to learn, what I have to do academically to graduate in the year I'm supposed to.
I'll be going on exchange my senior year; that means I'm getting enough credits to graduate this year, which is an incredibly difficult task.

I sent in my prelim application October 10th and found out today -Nov. 3- that I have an interview on the 12th at 4. It was such a long month that I waited to hear those words, "I'd love to hear more about you! Does Thursday at 4 sound good?"

Gaaaaaaaah :D
I'm nervous for districts already and I haven't even been accepted by my club.
